So my husband (hopefully he will start writing here soon too…) wanted to know why I decided to use “starving” instead of “seeking” in the title of this space.
There is an element of seeking in this journey: seeking equity, for example. However, there is a dramatic difference between being starved for equity and merely seeking it. When one is starved for something, he or she will go to lengths to obtain it. I could tell you that I am job seeking, which might get your attention; if I say I am starving for a job, you might pay a bit more attention. You might want to know from a place of empathy why I am starving for a job.
When I finished explaining, he said, “That’s what I thought, but I needed to hear you say it.”
His name is Christopher. Watch out for him.
