Yeah Write #95: Tisket

It’s time for the Speakeasy! Here’s my little 100-word charmer, called “Tisket”

A hush descended over the room as Carla cleared her throat. It was her turn to start a game at recess; no one was truly interested, since she was not much of a pal to anyone. She was always so prim and proper, coming to school in a dress, crinolines, and what should have been her Sunday patent-leather shoes. Everyone figured it would be no fun, but with Mrs. Smith watching, they behaved. Carla pulled the note and dainty basket from her desk. It wasn’t green or yellow, but would serve the purpose for the game. Even the boys smiled.

    1. Thank you, Suzanne! I was on a roll yesterday…so much so that I missed an important bit of instruction (prompt=first words) and had to go make adjustments. Glad it worked πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you, Sandra! It was fun to write; gave me a chance to go listen to Ella Fitzgerald sing her version of “A tisket a tasket” πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you, Bee; little kids are funny like that (at least they used to be, about a hundred years ago when I was a wee tyke…). Too bad as adults, we lose that ability to be so fluid πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you, Stephanie! There are times when they just write themselves…I am grateful for the folks who develop these wonderful prompts that inspire!!
