While I no longer have food-borne allergies, there have always been a number of foods I preferred to stay away from. Cauliflower, when placed before me, looks like a pile of small white brains on a plate.
Never mind that the same image is not conjured by broccoli, which I absolutely adore. Leafy greens, piled high and steaming, are cause for gags.
But wait a minute: what happens when those foods are served cold?
Ah! I had not tried the cauliflower on the dip tray–delicious! What of spinach salad? A delight! Kale salad was a new and interesting treat (and I discovered kale chips as well; tried sour cream and onion flavor and it was tasty).
It has been a 180-whirlwind.
