Daily Prompt: Hands Down, Books Up

In addition to the Bible, “The Mouse & His Child” was probably the most influential book of my early elementary years. I have a story about how I acquired my first copy of the book but that is something for another day. Let us fast-forward to today: I still have that first copy. It sits, alphabetized, in the book area of the house and is often referred to when sage advice is needed. I even referred to it in a couple of papers during my graduate school years. It is one of my prized possessions, although when I move out of my body, it will probably end up in a dumpster or something if I don’t die famous, in which case it will sell for a gazillion dollars because it was mine…
