I sighed. “It felt strange being where it was so warm; on our side, it’s always dark and cool. The ones who live there get to the supply rockets first and take the best stuff. We decided to be first, that our village would get the best instead of left-overs for a change.” I didn’t want to say anything more.
“Go on,” the magistrate insisted.
The hair on my arms stood up as I remembered. “We crossed into the light, the humans saw us, and screamed. It was only after they pointed weapons that we attacked.”
