Picture It & Write: The Contest

Jayna had had about enough of Zan; she felt that he was always showing off. There was no doubt that she loved her brother but he thought that his abilities were so much better and more impressive than hers. But today she would show him.

“Hey, Zan,” she called, struggling with pronunciation a bit because she had transformed into a pelican.

He looked at her and laughed. “What do you want, Jayna?”

She transformed back into herself and said simply, “Challenge.” This had become their shorthand for a brother-sister transformation war. Since his specialty was water, he usually was able to drown any creature into which Jayna transformed herself but today, she had a surprise for him.

Okay, a silly Sunday take on this week’s Picture It & Write, based on two super-heroes characters I have never had much fondness for–The Wonder Twins. For those of you for whom 1977 is “back in the old days,” feel free to connect here to read their history. They had to touch fists in order to transform in those original series, but I decided–for the purposes of this little piece of writing–that since they have grown up a bit, so have their abilities.

  1. I loved the twins, especailly Jayna. Who wouldn’t want to be any animal they can dream about. πŸ˜‰
    Good one!

    1. Thank you, Glynis! I must agree by way of clarification: I loved the shape-shifting abilities, but the twins themselves bugged me πŸ˜€

      1. I get that! For me they were a little over the top.
They weren’t high on my list of superheros.

    1. I wouldn’t be surprised…they weren’t that popular on this side either 😯 Haha! (No offense to any WT fans out there…)
