A strange calmness came over him when he entered the silent room. He looked out through eyes not quite his, at a space he recognized. He made his way fully into the bathroom, the urge to go quite urgent; part of him wanted to sit down, yet the hands that reached out to the ring and lifted it. He looked down at the hands, and the object in them, fascinated. A turn to the mirror confirmed that he was not himself today, or herself--as it were.

I decided that today's Write Now! prompt (the bold sentence above)  fit nicely with the Daily Prompt, which asked

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a member of the opposite sex for a day? What do you think life would be like?

I can think of a few times in my life when I have wondered what it would be like to wake up and find that I was a man, with man smells and my very own, like attached to my body. I imagine that it would feel like to look out of my eyes and know I was in a different suit...
