I hope this message reaches you one day; a bottle washed up and I discovered that I could use charcoal from the fire to write on the inside of coconut husks that I trimmed thin. I rolled it up and sealed it inside this bottle, with your address and telephone number. I sure hope someone finds it and gets it to you soon, just so you know that I am okay. You can't come get me--I don't know where I am. And even if you could, they would kill you for trying. I don't know what I did to incur their wrath, but for some reason I was put on this island, alone. Before they left they said I'd be here forever. But the good news is they gave me a choice of foods that will be delivered regularly. I decided if I have to eat the same things for the rest of my life, I'd get some of my favorites in: lobster and butter (I lobbied for that to count as one item and my captors agreed--I guess I caught them on a generous day), broccoli, chocolate, a rotating selection of beverages (I lobbied again and it was granted--water, iced tea, and Coke), and (instead of another food item) sleeping pills. I explained that since I didn't have an adequate shelter right away it would be hard for me to sleep. Again, my captors agreed; this time I think though that they've done this before and they know, I mean they really know. I figure this will most likely be my only letter. Those sleeping pills are already looking good.
For today's Daily Post, where the prompt was:
You’ve being exiled to a private island, and your captors will only supply you with five foods. What do you pick?
