The Starving Activist is the sometimes-home for words. AR Neal (that’s me) finds them, cultivates them, and leaves them here. Enjoy.

Scribe's Cave Picture Prompt: She Was Someone's Baby Once

They walked reverently through the old materinity ward until they reached the nursery. It had not felt the breath of man or beast in many years and seemed to sigh as the couple tipped slowly toward the window. "There it is," the woman whispered. "That's where they weighed her when she was first born."The gentleman, once her physician, held her elbow. "How does it make you feel to be here?"She shook her head slightly and rubbed her nose. "It's so hard to believe that my sweet baby has turned into ..." She was unable to finish the sentence. The doctor guided her out of the decrepid edifice. "She may not be very pretty now, but she was your baby once. That's all that matters."

One hundred twenty-five words for this week's SCPP. The title and last line are inspired by one of my favorite Bugs Bunny episodes (from which I have gotten quite a bit of mileage!), 'Broomstick Bunny', posted below for your entertainment and to lighten the mood from this post. After you check out the cartoon, be sure to click the photo to visit the prompt and add your thoughts.
