Friday Fictioneers, 24 January 2014: Windfall Profit

She didn't say a word, but wondered where William had gotten the roofing materials; it was startling to the eye, particularly in comparison to the understated elegance of the roof of their previous home. She looked down at it lovingly, remembering. The couple living there now was expecting a baby and they were so nice. Since she and William had that windfall profit, he had become obsessed about building a larger home farther up the hill. She loved and supported her husband, and the the idea of more space was appealing. She'd had no idea he would build it himself.
