The Starving Activist is the sometimes-home for words. AR Neal (that’s me) finds them, cultivates them, and leaves them here. Enjoy.

Daily Prompt: Follow The Leader

Well, don't just stand there: c'mon in. Make yourself comfortable. Take your shoes off and wiggle your toes. This is home! Don't act like a stranger; want something to drink? All we've got at the moment is water, milk, and tea; oh--there is coffee and hot tea as well o'course. Water? Righto. How about a snack? No? You just ate? Very well then. Here you are. Are you comfy? What would you like to watch--we have videos, DVD's and o'course cable; here's the remote so you can choose. So, what's new? What's happening? Ah, nothing's new here; tell me about you. Oh, while you do that, let's walk outside and enjoy the Southern California breeze. It's going to be in the low 70s today you know. What? You never noticed the color of the mountains before?! What have you been looking at when you drive down the road?! They can't be missed! I hope you'll take time to look around in future.Well, thanks for visiting--we hope to see you again soon!

If you come to our home, you will find a well lived-in abode, filled with dogs, cats, fish, plants, people, books, and stuff. We don't pretend--you'll find it just as it is and if you happen to be a neatnik, we'll apologize profusely and hand you a tissue or three for your pet/dander/dusgt allergy. One of the things we do well and try to teach folks is to live. Look about, see the beauty of the landscape here in SoCal--where we live is the valley and all around us are mountain ranges. We were in awe when we first arrived here and one of our neighbors shared that if you stand in just the right spot on the right day, you can see water, waaayyyy out there: that's the Pacific Ocean winking at you. From that moment I was hooked and do my best to help every guest realize just how incredible the scenery. If you visit, you'll be welcomed as family; some people "entertain," we try to enjoy. So the next time you're in the neighborhood, stop by and set a spell. Maybe you'll learn somethin'.I give you all that in response to the pushing and shoving from the pixies over at the Daily Post, who state:

We all know how to do something well — write a post that teaches readers how to do something you know and/or love to do.
